Los Angeles is home again at last. After a decade of living at the foot of Mount Shasta – tending the land, growing herbs, and building our skincare brand called BFree Organics. We sensed it was time to return to our Southern California roots. BFree products were literally born in Los Angeles, and always crafted from organic ingredients. Stepping onto LA soil feels like coming full circle: the California farmland where those ingredients grew is now entwined with the ocean breezes of Southern California again. The timing is right, and the energy is electric. Life’s storms have cleared the air and I am bravely starting a new chapter. It’s raw to admit that an era has ended, but this transformation is also uplifting. I am finding strength and clarity, planting seeds of growth that are already blossoming.
Mother & Student
My children are growing, too! One just graduated from high school, another nearly grown in his mid twenties and two littles I still home school. They have watched this entire journey unfold. As they step into their own futures, I hope to model resilience. Even as a mother, I am still learning: back in the classroom pursuing a Master’s in Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations. Late nights of study and early mornings of mediation and movement all feel connected. Every lesson feeds the vision of serving the community. My kids see me turning real life rollercoasters into purpose, and they always cheer me on.
Crafting Wellness & Empowerment
In my sunlit apothecary, I craft each elixir with intention. And I vividly remember how it all began. It started in 2007 when I developed a remedy for my eldest son’s chronic eczema and by 2012 that labor of love became BFree Organics. Rooted in the legacy of my grandmothers (one a homesteader, the other a queen), Our brand blends earth and elegance. Each bottle is a symbol of gratitude for that legacy. Everything we do is guided by a deep commitment to nature, heritage, and wellness. Our skincare formulas are rich with potent botanicals that honor the mind, body, and soul, and community rituals that honor ancient wisdom. We create with the bases of Native American and Caribbean traditions, as we blend old-world rituals with modern healing. This is about inner and outer transformation. A whole body nourished by plant medicine, with spirit lifted by ceremony.
Beyond a Brand
What started as clean, organic skincare is growing into a full-spectrum wellness movement. BFO Wellness Club (BFree Organics Wellness Club) is deliberately not “just another brand” – it’s a members-only, community-driven sanctuary for holistic well-being. We host yoga, breath-work, sound-healing, pilates, and mindfulness gatherings under the sun, on the beach, in urban studios and even abroad. Each event is a space to cultivate balance and vitality, a place to breathe deeply and connect. Our intent is to fuse inner healing (meditation, empowerment talks, ancestral ceremonies) with outer healing (pure skincare, movement, conscious rituals). In other words, the self-care rituals we teach and practice were born of the same ethos that made those serums so special: community care, transparency, and reverence for heritage. As our own story says, this brand was created in honor of her grandmothers and the ancestral wisdom they passed down. Now BFO is taking that legacy further. Each gathering calls in the spirit of my foremothers, creative, resilient, earth-connected and invites everyone to rise with us.
In our workshop, we teach that embracing wellness is a lifelong craft. With mortar and pestle in hand, we show that healing can be worked into everything. A skin ritual, a gratitude practice, a moment of stillness and time in the garden. Every smell of herb smoke and every communal heartbeat under a drum becomes a reminder that this is movement born of memory and magik. There’s power in gathering under the California sky, feeling the breeze and hearing the ocean, and remembering who we are... children of nature, survivors of change, guardians of joy.
